The “Charlie Hall” fund was established in 2011. It was the brainchild of Charlie Hall, his accountant, and Jim David. Charlie wanted to create a non-profit fund that would enable him, and others, to assist senior pet owners with the care and well being of their beloved pet families. Charlie also wanted to provide this 501c3 fund in loving memory of his wife Madeline, “Maddie” and their two canine “children”, Ginger, a Rottweiler and Dudley, a Golden Retriever. Maddie had lost her bout with cancer a year or so previous to the establishment of this fund and Ginger, the Rottweiler, had also passed from cancer shortly before Maddie. Approximately one year later, Dudley also had to be put to sleep as he too, lost his battle with cancer.
It has always been Charlie’s hope that this fund would be of great use to all senior pet owners who are on a fixed or limited income. Charlie also wanted this fund to enable these pet owners to enjoy their pet families more and allow them to provide the best care possible for them when they were in need.
The use of this fund is decided on a case-by-case basis and the amount of funds provided to the pet owner towards their pet care varies depending on the amount of care that is needed for the pet, as well as the pet owner’s circumstances. Charlie wanted this fund to be specific to the clients of Circle L Animal Hospital since that was the hospital that had taken care of his pet family the entire time that they were on this earth. While several of the Circle L clients have seen fit to donate to this non-profit organization, the majority of donations still come from Charlie because this is something that he believes in and is extremely proud to have his name associated with. It was also Charlie’s hope that others would join him in this effort to assist senior pet owners with their own tax-deductible donation to this 501c3 fund.
